POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Manager for Cryptocurrency Operations at TradeStation, you will work with various departments across the firm to drive, process, and improve all operational aspects of the firm’s cryptocurrency offering. The individual will collaborate across different departments to perform high volume, complex clearing specifically related to individual and institutional accounts, in accordance with company policies and procedures as the crypto platform continues to grow. This individual should have had a strong background in brokerage operations, risk monitoring, reconciliations, and process ownership. Ideally this individual will also have a working knowledge of cryptocurrency and how it operates when it comes to blockchain confirmations, address generations, transaction fees, public keys, and various other crypto-specific components. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Drive the policy implementation and executions of effective workflows for all teams involved in crypto operations
  • Provide operational support and guidance across departments to ensure compliance with all Federal and State laws, regulations, and statues as well as all corporate policies and procedures
  • Data validation of net settlement of various cryptocurrency coins with exchanges and liquidity providers
  • Partner with various teams to define and enhance operating models related to cryptocurrency
  • Ensure books and records are reconciled and all exceptions are documented, reported, and escalated in accordance with firm policy
  • Supervise critical account and asset reconciliation and recordkeeping
  • Perform system testing and enhancements when required
  • Work with various stakeholders, draft and implement policies and procedures around all aspects of the Crypto operational workflow
  • Make or assist in making key decisions regarding liquidity, issue escalations, break resolutions, and new crypto-specific policies
  • Provide a key escalation point for day-to-day issues as well as help resolve long-standing items by partnering with the appropriate parties to reach resolutions
  • Represent Operational interests in ongoing Cryptocurrency discussions and projects, ensuring that enhancements, process changes, or new procedures are communicated sufficiently to key Operational stakeholders and any concerns are addressed in continuing discussions with Product and Development teams
Other essential job functions:  
  • Work with risk, compliance, and other business stakeholders to establish / define standard operations procedures related to the operational workflow of Cryptocurrency
  • Ensure tight controls and governance of the operational processes
  • Work with Treasury and Senior Director to establish base line cash and crypto management and reporting for effective liquidity management across assets
  • Work closely with Business Management and Technology teams to identify enhancements that will streamline the workflow and enhance the client experience, while reducing operational risk
  • Participate in internal and external audits as needed
  • Identify market trends with a focus on capitalizing on market events
  • Work with regulators as needed to ensure transparency, controls, governance, and oversight
  • Continuous assessment and evaluation of appropriate operational processes
  • Supervise pertinent elements of the Crypto Operational processes, including but not limited to: trading, settlements (both crypto and fiat), reconciliations,
  • On-going monitoring of client trading patterns with keen awareness of risk exposure, performance drivers, and market environments
  • Work in tandem with Product and Technology teams to monitor and provide assistance in regards to changes or major events in the Cryptocurrency space, including forks or new coins that come to market
  • Partner with Crypto Lending team to provide support for new and existing loans as well as understanding the lending platform
  • Explore new opportunities with vendors, wallets and wallet service providers, or associated crypto entities to keep TCI on the cutting edge of the crypto space
  • Assist internal Client Service team with client responses regarding technical aspects of crypto activity
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • High-level knowledge of all operational processes as well as advanced knowledge of some key operational processes such as: maintaining books and records, cash movements, trading policies and procedures, position reconciliations, etc.
  • Experience in supporting Cryptocurrency operations and / or wallet movements preferred
  • Working knowledge of Cryptocurrency and associated operational concerns
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure
  • Exceptional thought-provoking team player and leader
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Financial Industry: 5 - 10 years of experience
  • FINRA Licenses: SIE, Series 7 and Series 24 required
