We are actively seeking a talented and experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee the planning and implementation of a wide variety of projects. The PMO for TradeStation sits at the group level and manages projects for both the brokerage side (TradeStation Securities), and the technology side (TradeStation Technologies). The PMO is responsible for managing the corporate priority projects from conceptual planning through implementation and reporting on the health and progress to both the project stakeholders and our executive team. We work with colleagues from all parts of our organization and get exposure to projects that range anywhere from technical integrations, to launching new product lines and adding new subsidiaries. Each project is unique and makes us highly visible to different areas of the company. 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Effectively lead and direct multiple projects to completion by leveraging best practice PMO methodology:
  • Work with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and objectives
  • Create and keep up to date a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Delegate project tasks and deliverables
  • Coordinate personnel and oversee task estimation to ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Hold status meetings and provide status updates
  • Take and distribute meeting notes
  • Create and organize project documentation
  • Define and execute the project communication plan to ensure ongoing communication of the project status is timely, and consistent
  • Develop, monitor, and manage all timelines and make detailed reports on progress towards milestones and deliverables
  • Identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements:
    • Proactively engage the Executive Stakeholders, Project Sponsor, PMO, and project team to ensure that project risks and issues are identified, documented, quantified, and communicated early
    • Provide the necessary information and /or recommendation option(s) in a timely manner to Project Sponsors on key issues that will require a decision to be rendered that will impact the project scope, quality, resources, deliverables, timeline or costs
    • Review proposed modifications on project plans, including meeting with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes
Collaborate with the PMO Team:
  • Participate in the creation of a framework which will be used to keep the portfolio of projects on track, analyze project performance, and score the health of the project
  • Present on the portfolio and project health in order to make proper project decisions and escalations based on the KPIs

  • Experience – We are looking for someone with a distinct blend of business, financial service, and IT experience as this is a highly visible position with a substantial impact. We want someone that can hit the ground running.
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills – You need to be able to articulate difficult business and technical concepts in everyday terminology, while keeping all project documentation organized.
  • Great communication skills – We work with people in many locations. Communication is key to pushing projects forward. You need to be able to articulate and escalate issues with the relevant parties to remove roadblocks or obstacles that would impact delivery of the project, and effectively report on status, risks, and timeline of the project.
  • Ability to build relationships – You need to be able to work cross functionally in a matrix environment while being adaptable and flexible. You need to be able to work with all levels of personnel while promoting good working relationships and cultivating trust with members across our organization.
  • Results driven with a “get things done” attitude – This is one of the key differentiators we are looking for. You will run into roadblocks. You must be the type of person that will push through the roadblocks and find solutions.
  • Comfortable holding people accountable for their deliverables – You need to stay on top of people to get things done. Sometimes things need to be escalated in order to resolve. You need to feel comfortable doing both.
  • Constantly learning – You need to have a desire to continually improve your skills and learn new things. Our industry and software are always changing. You need to be willing to put in time to stay on top of what is new.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:     
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or another related field
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of products
  • Familiar with software development tools such as JIRA and the Agile development process
  • 5-10 years of experience in project management, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exemplary leadership within an organization
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification desired
