POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Analyst of Financial Planning and Analysis will play a key role in analyzing and presenting financial data to management to assist in informed decision making, and support bridging the gap between finance and technology.  The position will be responsible for monthly and quarterly consolidation of the financial planning process including: 1) analysis of financial statements, key performance indicators and market trends 2) preparation of reporting packages for month-end, and planning and forecasting, 3) development of financial models to support planning and forecasting based on business needs, and 4) provide assistance in maintaining, administering and development of enhancements of various reporting tools and financial systems. 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • The Senior Analyst of Financial Planning and Systems will be responsible for supporting the monthly/quarterly/annual financial planning and consolidation processes for all TradeStation subsidiaries through close working relationships with each of the controllership teams
  • Support Accounting month-end close activities, reporting and analysis of financial results
  • Create, modify, and design reports and templates based on business requirements by liaising with relevant stakeholders
  • Consolidate and analyze data and metrics from various support systems, as well as market and competitor data to provide useful insight for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual reporting to key stakeholders
  • Prepare, maintain and distribute financial scorecards and various other financial reports for business reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of market conditions and trends, and explain and communicate the impact of such on the financial results of the organization
  • Design and develop financial models using historical trending, and key drivers to build out assumptions for planning and forecasting, and to assist in decision making as business needs require.
  • Assist in the monthly forecasting and annual planning processes for revenue and expense planning, capital budgeting, and revenue and cost analysis by coordinating with controllerships teams and business owners accordingly to ensure accuracy, timeliness and transparency in all processes
  • Create and maintain various spreadsheets and dashboards in order to support analysis and provide insight
  • Work hands-on with internal customers and stakeholders to understand business processes
  • Serve as an auxiliary support for daily reporting of brokerage metrics and KPIs, and for Oracle EPBCS system administration, including monthly routine maintenance and configuration, software upgrades, design, implementation, functional testing, data validation, and liaising with third-party managed services providers to ensure quality solutions and that current systems and processes are meeting organizational needs
  • Drive efficiencies in FP&A processes by automating manual tasks and processes
  • Ensure that consistent practices are used throughout the company to maintain the integrity of all related systems
  • Work as a process improvement agent and help to identify opportunities to remove redundancy
  • Anticipate problems, identify root causes, and be proactive about preventing issues from occurring
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Excellent knowledge of finance and accounting concepts and financial reporting
  • Familiar with Microsoft D365 or other similar accounting systems
  • Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of business process management
  • Must have advanced Excel skills
  • Familiarity with Oracle EPBCS and SmartView with an emphasis on the Financials module, as well as other modules including Workforce, Capital Asset, and Project Financial planning is preferred
  • Experience with designing reports with tools such as Power BI and Tableau is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to explain financial performance to non-finance personnel
  • Must be self-directed and effective, working independently and in a team environment
  • Have the ability to be both detail-oriented and maintain a high-level view of concepts to provide executive summaries
  • Demonstrate an analytical, methodical, and creative approach to finding opportunities for improvement and resolving issues
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • BS Degree in Accounting or Finance (an additional degree in Information Systems is a plus)
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, and/or Information Systems
  • 2+ years of experience with a financial planning system
  • Strong systems and business analytics experience
  • Previous experience with financial services firms, especially broker-dealers, preferred
