What We Are Looking For:
The product team is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Manager of Product Operations /Unofficial Chief of Staff to support the product organization and facilitate cross-functional collaboration. This is a multifaceted role that requires a high degree of adaptability and strategic thinking.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a strong track record of leading and implementing process improvements. They will have the ability to support executive-level communication and decision-making and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Leading as the subject matter expert and overseeing product operations to ensure efficient and effective processes across the product organization, including managing the product roadmap, backlog, and release cycles
- Functioning as an unofficial chief of staff to the product organization's leadership, supporting executive-level communication and decision-making
- Serving as a liaison between the product organization and other departments to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and alignment, working closely with engineering, design, marketing, and customer success teams
- Keeping track of objectives/KPIs and implementing robust processes/systems to improve performance and productivity; creating/maintaining supporting dashboards and driving team awareness/understanding of current performance, key drivers/issues, and priority gaps to close
- Ensuring information flow and decision-making processes are effective and efficient through significantly impacting product operations results. Standardizing team communications and assisting with transmission of best-practices/knowledge-sharing amongst product teams and stakeholders
- Developing and implementing communication plans to drive alignment on mission, strategy, and goals, ensuring collaboration and engagement from key stakeholders within the business.
- Working with VP of Product to set agenda, coordinate follow-ups, and organize key team meetings, leadership meetings, leadership offsites, and All Hands
- Identifying and implementing systems, processes, and policies/controls to ensure scalable, efficient product org operations; managing product team tools (for road mapping, prototyping, etc.); seeking & destroying meeting bloat and maximizing ROI of team meeting time
- Leading or supporting a variety of ad-hoc initiatives critical to the company's mission
- Managing direct reports who will serve as a flexible staffing pool for the department
The Skills You Bring:
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Ability to think strategically and drive results through a data-driven approach
- Experience with product management methodologies, including agile development and product road mapping
- Familiarity with product development tools and technologies, such as JIRA, Trello, or Asana
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Leadership and team management experience, with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Experience in operational management, including process improvement, systems implementation, and performance management
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in product operations, project management, or related fields.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with executive-level leaders
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools, and experience with performance metrics and reporting
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making.
- Proven track record of successfully managing cross-functional projects and teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and implement process improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field.
- Familiarity with product development processes, from ideation to launch and post-launch analysis
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in a Chief of Staff or similar role, supporting executive-level communication and decision-making
- Experience in product management, with a deep understanding of product development processes and methodologies
- Advanced degree in business, engineering, or related field
