Product Owner
Heredia, CR
The Product Owner - Web is responsible for working with Department Heads to determine their needs, identify the best client solutions, work directly with the development team on the execution, and communicating progress to the impacted stakeholders.
The Product Owner will be responsible for understanding, prioritizing and defining the customer needs, managing the product life cycle and working closely with many teams such as Retail Strategy, Sales, Brokerage Services and Marketing to keep the TradeStation web properties on the cutting edge.  He/she will be managing technology application development projects and assisting in prioritization in accordance with Lean Agile methodologies.  He/she will also be responsible for tracking and delivery of assigned projects in the department to help ensure they are completed on time and according to requirements.
Applicants should be familiar with trading/securities industry concepts, practices and procedures.  Candidates are expected to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish a variety of complicated tasks and goals.  A wide degree of technical proficiency, creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Work with Department  Heads to capture requirements and create the appropriate features and user stories with the development team
  • Ensure software development life cycle is adhered to, facilitating on-time, high quality releases
  • Assist in assuring timely completion and implementation of quality solutions including developing new solutions and enhancing/maintaining/supporting existing systems
  • Collaborate with all department heads to manage their expectations
  • Work with developers to design applications based on department needs
  • Manage projects from  initiation through delivery and closure
  • Ensure that all new projects, as well as modifications to existing systems, are in compliance with related regulations and client experience standards

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Ability to plan and organize schedules to achieve desired objectives
  • Ability to present projects to technical and non-technical staff

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s/MBA a plus)
  • 3+ years’ experience as a product manager, preferably in the securities industry
  • Reasonable experience in project management
