This position is part of the TradeStation Architecture Office, which drives the technical enablement of our engineering teams.  The charter of this team of architects is to accelerate the achievement of business objectives by assisting the development teams, conducting architecture reviews, defining best practices and reference architectures, and building reference implementations.  While enablement is a key tenant of the role, also looking outward to evaluate new technologies, monitor trends, and evaluate vendor solutions will provide the leverage to keep our technical teams on the cutting edge.

  • Design and create reference implementations and POCs (hands-on coding)
  • Define standards and best practices
  • Conduct architecture reviews
  • Assist teams with architectural issues
  • Evaluate vendors and technologies
  • Provide mentorship to other engineers
  • Experience with distributed and scalable software architectures, understanding of CAP theorem
  • Mastery of one or more modern general-purpose programming languages, such as C# or Java
  • Experience building modern microservices (REST, gRPC)
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (low-level TCP/UDP/IP, WebSockets, Protobufs, HTTP)
  • Understanding of database concepts, including NoSQL and document DBs
  • Comfortable with cloud-based architectures, infrastructure, and services (AWS, Azure)
  • Experienced with DevOps principles and using CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
  • Hands-on Docker or Kubernetes experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively and assist developers across the organization
  • Business domain knowledge in Brokerage and Crypto is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
