As a Summer Intern, you will work with Software Engineering/Product Development and Product Strategy & Innovation teams.  At TradeStation, our interns are key players in our daily innovation and have the opportunity to make big contributions.  We use cutting edge technologies to provide our customers with state of the art market analysis tools and order execution.
 
Intern projects include working in all phases of the Software Development Cycle in an Agile environment, business intelligence initiatives, process improvement, data collection and analysis, requirements gathering, and asset management. 
 
Responsibilities:
 
Software Engineering/Product Development:
  • Work with the Business Intelligence (BI) team on the migration to a Structured Data Warehouse, developing tools for tracking the quality and accuracy of the data collected, assisting with the migration of on premise solutions to Azure, working directly with business owners to define and document their requirements and creating PowerBI dashboards from one or more data sources in response to business requests
  • Assist the Market Data Integrity team with exchange reporting, billing reconciliation process improvement, and classification integrity
  • Assist with a working build of the Platform in Visual Studio 2017
  • Analysis of magnitude of work and clearing hurdles for converting the code base in the Platform from 32 bits to 64 bits

Product Strategy & Innovation:
  • Assist the Data Science and Quantitative Analysis team on the Bestiary Project to increase the sophistication of our trading models by writing Python code to specify, build, test, and run models for trading futures, equities, and their derivatives
  • Work on UI UX Design initiatives to help organize and simplify the user experience, provide a modern look to the project and help layout a mobile and desktop web application
  • Assist with marketing of our EVents Analytics (EVA) tool utilizing new trends and recent events to craft a narrative that ties them to a tradable concept or idea
  • Rigorously test our trading tools in order to ensure the highest level of quality

Skills, Education & Experience:
 
Software Engineering/Product Development:
  • Experience in C++, C#, or JavaScript skills
  • Experience with systems software or algorithms
  • Knowledge of UNIX/Linux and/or Windows environments and APIs
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP and network programming
  • High degree of mathematical competence and core understanding of the various applied mathematical methods using the latest models both manual and computer driven
  • Data analysis/statistics/math capabilities
  • Familiar with databases, SQL technologies
  • Familiar with big data technologies and concepts
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

Product Strategy and Innovation:
  • Experience with Python, SQL and AWS
  • Understanding of web technologies, a great eye for design, interest in conducting user research and user focus groups, and experience creating UI/UX mockups; experience designing a web site or application preferred
  • Data analysis/statistics/math capabilities
  • Familiar with big data technologies and concepts
  • Desire to learn about the brokerage industry and trading
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the areas of Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Marketing or related field
