Trading Operations Specialist
Plantation, FL
 
The Trading Operations Specialist is a key member of the operations and client support teams supporting trade processes, order routing and trade execution, client reporting and portfolio reconciliation functions. This role will be responsible for monitoring client and firm risk for all tradeable assets and provide an enhanced level of customer support.  The role also requires strong computer skills, attention to detail, positive professional attitude, and ability to work in an elevated-stress environment.  The individual is required to act decisively and exercise independent judgment in the daily responsibilities of the position and will work closely with other departments such as the Client Services and Clearing Operations teams.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Real-time Risk Management and Risk Mitigation
  • Order creation and execution for all tradeable assets, including Crypto
  • Active risk monitoring of live Crypto trading platform for signs of disorderly trading or abnormal activity
  • Post trade processing and resolving trade settlement issues in a timely manner
  • Client reporting support
  • Identify workflow/system improvements and work with supervisor and operations team to enact enhancements
  • Monitor financial and trading operational internal controls and procedures
  • Establish and effectively monitor Crypto account level trading and broker restrictions
  • Review daily and periodic vendor reports and reconciliations; identify potential issues and resolve with vendor
  • Monitor client cash flows; communicate and process according to firm procedures

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 
  • Understanding of market structure and blockchain technologies
  • Willingness to work non-standard hours and overtime as needed
  • Ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment, and act decisively
  • Customer service focus with experience in actively listening, eliciting information, comprehending customer issues/needs, and recommending solutions
  • Possess sound judgement and flexibility to change direction and make quick decisions in a fluid and stressful environment
  • Hands-on trading experience and general market knowledge to understand key risks
  • Ability to learn and assimilate information from multiple people and sources
  • A friendly professional demeanor and ability to excel in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite especially Excel
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented aptitude; a high degree of accuracy is required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to learn and adapt to change
  • Proven ability to succeed in a high risk, high pressure environment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Active series 7, 63 and 3 licenses preferred
  • Minimum of 2+ years financial industry experience with an emphasis on trading support and trade settlement
