What We Are Looking For:
The DevOps Manager is accountable for managing and leading agile teams of full stack developers for our internal systems and external websites. The manager will be responsible for improving teams’ delivery and agility via coaching, mentoring, motivating and leading by example.  In this role you will be the people manager, mentor and day-to-day manager for your teams. You will utilize your leadership skills and influence to evangelize and adopt DevOps patterns and methodologies while working together with your peers in operations and QA. You will be responsible for the quality, uptime and resilience of your applications. You will also be expected to work closely with other managers of software development teams to drive innovation in secure development, design and testing.

What You’ll Be Doing:
The role requires you to be able to manage the overall software development life cycle which includes the following responsibilities:
  • Create, prioritize, communicate, manage, and execute roadmaps, project plans, and commitments
  • Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management
  • Work closely with senior and principal engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach
  • Build a high-performance team with high velocity while maintaining a high bar for quality
  • Foster a culture of continuous engineering improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics
  • Hire, coach, and mentor individuals; build a strong cross-functional organization
  • Own all operational metrics and support
  • Bring innovative ideas to the table every day, in order to find better ways of accomplishing our business objectives
  • Set clear, measurable quality goals for an organization in a data-driven way
  • Technical depth to conduct code reviews and guide architectural and design decisions
  • Work together with the Product Owners to plan and execute projects, ensure the teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver products effectively
  • Help developers resolve technical problems
  • Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to optimize performance levels and career development
The Skills You Bring:
  • Experience and willingness to mentor more junior engineers and help them develop their skills and leadership abilities
  • Have a proven track record of shipping multiple high-quality software products/services on time
  • Experience with managing the day-to-day activities of an engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate technical leadership when facing adversity
  • Strong bias for action; ability to juggle multiple priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of software development experience (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, .NET)
  • 2+ years in a team lead role
  • Experience with the following tools/technologies/languages: AWS, Kubernetes, SQL
  • Solid understanding of modern DevOps technologies such as: GIT, Containers, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible or similar)
  • Experience with pipeline based SDLC CI/CD automation
  • Experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and analysis tools (e.g., Datadog, Sumo Logic, New Relic)
  • Understanding of networking principles and how it applies to data flow and security
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with trading software is a plus
