The Trading Operations/Margin Specialist is a key member of the operations and client support teams supporting trade processes, order routing and trade execution, as well as monitoring and maintenance of margin call activity according to regulatory and firm guidelines. This role will be responsible for monitoring client and firm risk for all tradeable assets and provide an enhanced level of customer support.  The role also requires strong computer skills, attention to detail, positive professional attitude, and ability to work in an elevated-stress environment.  The individual is required to act decisively and exercise independent judgment in the daily responsibilities of the position and will work closely with other departments such as the Client Services and Clearing Operations teams.
The candidate will need to become familiar with technological solutions that focus on improving processes and procedures. They must embrace an integrated, total business philosophy, including revenue generation ideas and cost containment.  This role is responsible for personnel development, contributions to strategic projects and identifying/analyzing areas of process improvement. This role should also anticipate changes in the business environment and develop plans to proactively address them, while also ensuring compliance with potential industry regulations. Risk awareness and aversion to both company and client are also imperative to the success of this role.
  • Real-time risk management and margin/risk mitigation
  • Margin Calls - review, communication, and enforcement of firm and regulatory guidelines as it relates to margin account initial and maintenance requirements
  • Trade Related Items - review, communication, and enforcement of firm and regulatory guidelines as it relates to Regulation T requirements
  • Non-Trade Items– includes identification, research, and resolution of non-trade items, such as short positions and debits
  • Risk Reports – review daily risk reports and identify and resolve potential risk items involving options and regulatory violations
  • Order creation and execution for all tradeable assets, including Crypto
  • Post trade processing and resolve trade settlement issues in a timely manner
  • Identify workflow/system improvements and work with supervisor and operations team to enact enhancements
  • Participate in new product testing and introduction to the team
  • Consistently seek opportunities to improve processes, controls and procedures within the Crypto team
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Sales, Client Services and other operations areas
  • Establish and effectively monitor account level trading and broker restrictions
  • Review daily and periodic vendor reports and reconciliations; identify potential issues and resolve with vendor
  • Monitor client cash flows; communicate and process according to firm procedures
  • Work closely with IT to ensure that all system issues are escalated and resolved quickly, and that systems are utilized by the team to optimal efficiency
  • Understanding of market structure and framework
  • Willingness to work non-standard hours and overtime as needed

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Active series 7 and 63 licenses required, series 24 and 3 preferred 
  • Minimum of 5+ years financial industry experience with an emphasis on trading support, trade settlement and brokerage operations
